Had a great Superbowl hanging out w/Ufo Messiah guitarist and also one of my oldest and dearest friends! Out of all of my new singer/songwriter stuff recorded over the past 3 months Marcus has started laying down some tracks on a few select songs and we are hoping to have a few new Ufo offerings and a myspace page before the end of the year! (we work together very slowly) Iv'e also been going through the L.E vault and trying to decide some moves there? I have the two remaining official 12" single releases on 1/4 masters "Lost Without Your Touch" and "Girl Inside The Magazine" that I need to tranfer to CDR and then at that point I want to make avail as downloads through Cd baby and ITunes just as soon as I can book the studio time and get this done? It always comes down to time and money doesn't it!!! I'm also talking w/Dan the Man aka Tears for Technology about re-mixing these last two remaining original L.E tracks as some of you have been impressed w/our collaborative efforts so far! If you feel this is a move in the right direction and want to hear updated versions of theses classic tracks let Dan or I know about it!!! For anyone out there reading this blog that doesn't know it you can reach Dan through my friends list i.e Tears for Technology! The last loose end I'm trying to tie up are the remainder of the acoustic recordings I did from Oct-Dec of this past year? I have some interest on making these songs available to my small but loyal fan base that are familiar with that side of my music or have been to one of my solo acoustic shows over the years? I'm thinking about just creating another myspace page as Christopher Phipps and offering some or all of these as free downloads to whoever wants to check them out? I'm very happy with the actual recordings themselves as they were done at Studio Center Miami in there A-Room with a great engineer! (Jeff(Ghandi) your the man!!!) and all top of the line equiptment including HD Pro-Tools through one of the only SSL Consoles in town! In closing I just wanted to say I spent most of the day today listening to the music posted on all of my new friends pages and was very impressed by allot of what I heard! Bands,Solo Artists,D.J's Producers there's so much talent and good music out there away from all the mainstream bullshit that is clogging up top 40 radio and what passes now as MTV and is anything but? Honerable mention goes too Faraday Street,Geneict and Chris Wheeler check out there music when you get a chance! Iv'e personally been jamming to The Dandy Warhols all week in my car stereo (my favorite place to rock out) who in my opinion are one of the best most progressive bands ever to come out of the USA!!! Hope everyone reading this has/had a great wkend! |
